About Lulu

I am a transdisciplinary artist whose work explores connections between the body and the universe. I am primarily a movement artist, with a focus on single point trapeze and aerial hoop/lyra, but I have a diverse background in visual and sonic arts, performance, and astronomy.

My work seeks to bridge our innermost human worlds with the far reaches of outer space– to draw out threads of intimacy from the grandest scales, and weave them with the personal. I began in visual arts, primarily painting and comics. Around 2010, encountering artists working at the intersection of art and science started to dissolve boundaries between my work as a professional astronomer and my artistic practice. I became interested in bridging the immense scale between the human body and the expanse of the universe, and in the possibilities of data as a medium.

Today, I am a full time student in the Aloft Circus Arts Professional Training Program, where I seek to create innovative, resonant, provocative performance works.
